Summary:

The Coordinator will be an integral part of the Native Self-Determination team, working closely with the Administrator and Director, Native Self-Determination.

This role is time-limited for an initial period of 5 years with the possibility of extension.

**While this role supports a portfolio focused on Native self-determination, candidates are not expected to come with prior experience in this field. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and manage logistics for team meetings, including creating agendas and preparing documents, for the Native Self-Determination team

  • Coordinate with Meeting Planners for catering and virtual meeting planning assistance when needed

  • Arrange and coordinate appointments and travel for members of the team, including involvement in site visits and domestic/international travel, as needed

  • Process expense reports

  • Coordinate with Information Technology when equipment is needed

  • Interact with, provide guidance to, and respond to questions from grantees, consultants, and other external partners, including helping to manage the Native Self-Determination inquiry inbox

  • Provide general proofreading and editing

  • Coordinate document and information management tasks that add value for the Native Self-Determination team

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as back-up to the Administrator of the Native Self-Determination team

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three to five years of relevant administrative experience

  • A bachelor’s degree is desirable

  • Comfortable working in a team environment

  • Excellent writing, editing, organizational, and verbal skills

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and projects

  • Able to think and work independently, using strong working knowledge of program substance and process

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

The position is hybrid and based in Chicago, Illinois.

Annual salary for this role will start at $67,600. We offer a generous total compensation package that emphasizes both base salary and a comprehensive benefits package to support your life, health, and well-being.
