Job Description - Coordinator of Auxiliary Programs

Marymount School seeks a collaborative, organized, and flexible problem-solver to manage a robust after-school program during the school year and support the Marymount Summer administrative team before and during summer camp. 



The Auxiliary Program Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating after-school activities, music lessons, and events; hiring and supervising program staff; managing registration, scheduling, and daily operations; and maintaining effective communication with families, faculty and staff, and outside partners. The Coordinator helps ensure that all programs provide a safe, supportive, and engaging experience for students.



The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, is highly organized and responsive, and is comfortable balancing advance planning with the day-to-day problem-solving required in a busy school environment. They work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.



Responsibilities include:



  • Plan and oversee after-school activities, music lessons, and special programs and events.

  • Manage registration, enrollment, scheduling, attendance, dismissal, spaces, and program logistics.

  • Recruit, hire, schedule, and supervise after-school instructors and staff.

  • Maintain a visible presence during after-school hours and ensure a safe, supportive environment for students.

  • Communicate proactively and professionally with families, faculty and staff, instructors, and outside partners.

  • Coordinate program materials, purchasing, contracts, and other administrative needs with appropriate School offices.

  • Develop engaging, developmentally appropriate programming responsive to student interests and family needs.

  • Support the Marymount Summer administrative team with planning, registration, staffing, scheduling, communication, and daily camp operations.

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen programming and improve systems and the family experience.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience working with children in an educational, recreational, camp, or after-school setting.

  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience supervising staff and handling sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.

  • Knowledge of child development and experience creating engaging, age-appropriate programming.

  • Commitment to practices that foster belonging and support all students.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.



Full-Time Work Schedule



  • Occasional evening or weekend hours for events or planning are expected. During the academic year, the position follows the school calendar. 

  • August 18–May: Monday–Friday, 10:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m., or until all students have been dismissed from after-school programs

  • June 1–July 25: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
