Grow Public Schools operates Grow Academy Arvin, and Grow Academy Shafter, both TK-8 schools, serving over 1,600 students with a plan to open two additional schools to serve a total of 3,200 students.




Job Overview & Summary 


The Coordinator of Educational Programs plays a crucial role in supporting the organization’s academic goals and our overall mission.  The Coordinator of Educational Programs supports the educational programs department’s goal of meeting the diverse needs of all students, including academic, behavioral and social-emotional learning.  S/he directly manages the day-to-day management of the ELOP program and builds academic alignment with the instructional program during the day.  The Coordinator of Educational Programs also manages the support for the transitional kindergarten program, oversees the LCAP development and monitoring processes, and works on special projects, as assigned.  S/he will directly manage the two school site After School Program Leads who run the ELOP program, and work collaboratively with other departments in the home office.




Key Responsibilities:


The Coordinator of Educational Programs leads the department’s work around ELOP program implementation, transitional kindergarten program supports, LCAP development and progress monitoring, and special projects.  Key responsibilities include:



Academic Team Contributor



  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Educational Programs, Chief Academic Officer, and other members of the academic team to develop a strong vision, strategy, systems, and processes for academic programs at Grow.

  • Support the design and implementation of any educational program improvements.



  • Help ensure strong alignment of systems and procedures across campuses.

  • Support implementation of PD with school site staff to build capacity.



  • Collaborate with the academic team to ensure the effective integration of MTSS across Grow Public Schools.



  • Establish strong relationships with school site staff, including the Principal, other members of the school leadership team, and other school site staff members.



  • Continuously support the evaluation of the effectiveness of academic programs and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.

  • Seek, reflect, and act on feedback on what’s working and where Grow Public Schools has opportunities to improve.


Team Leadership



  • Manage, coach and develop two After School Program Leads.

  • In collaboration with Principals, ensure After School Program Leads run high-quality programs that meet Grow’s standards.



  • Build a strong culture for the After School Program teams, including all individuals leading and working on ELOP programs.

  • Develop strong individual and team goals.

  • Design and deliver PD for both home office and school site staff.  Share best practices across schools to ensure uniformly high execution, learning and adoption.

  • Replicate applicable MTSS systems in the Extended Learning Program.


ELOP



  • Define a multi-year plan for ELOP, taking into account Grow’s expansion from two to four schools.

  • Lead after school, Saturday school, intercession and summer programming funded by ELOP to support students academically, socially and emotionally.

  • Lead recruiting of program participants and track attendance, in collaboration with school leadership teams and the Marketing & Communications team.

  • Ensure strong management and leadership across After School Program Leads.

  • Ensure alignment and communication with the regular school day staff.

  • In collaboration with the academics team and principals, align and meet defined, regular school-day academic goals via ELOP instruction.. 

  • Actively participate in required or relevant local, regional, statewide, department, and division meetings.

  • Oversee and manage the budget.  Monitor expenditures and attendance earnings to ensure adequate grant funding.

  • In partnership with school administrators and accounting, ensure reporting required for grants is completed, including developing and submitting quarterly fiscal and attendance reports to the CDE, developing grant program plans, and submitting other grant reports.

  • Ensure compliance with all ELOP state program requirements.



Transitional Kindergarten, LCAP, and Special Projects



  • Lead all support services for the transitional program at both schools, including PD for teachers, curriculum supports, and the development of policies to support the academic, social and emotional needs for students.

  • Support transitional kindergarten enrollment efforts through the development of collateral and talking with families, as needed.

  • Lead process to draft LCAP each year, working collaboratively with Principals, home office staff, and stakeholders across the organization.

  • Ensure alignment between the LCAP and other organizational priorities.

  • Work with the home office finance team and the outsourced finance team to provide fiscal inputs into the LCAP.

  • Support the presentation of LCAP approvals to the Board of Directors.

  • Monitor the implementation of the LCAP over the year.



  • Support special projects assigned, such as new grant applications, other compliance reports, and PD initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Commitment to the Grow Public Schools core beliefs and mission.

  • A minimum of 3 years of educational professional experience, in both classroom settings and instructional leadership; a valid CA Clear Teaching Credential is ideal

  • Strong experience working on high-performing school site teams.

  • Experience as a trusted member of an organization’s team.

  • Outstanding strategic, analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.



  • Strong systems-level thinking when solving problems.



  • Demonstrated experience building organizational culture.

  • A demonstrable commitment to leading for equity and social justice.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present effectively and facilitate decision-making.

  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take initiative.
