Position Summary:

The Coordinator of the House is responsible for maintaining and promoting the mission and core values of Francis House, working to ensure the home is a sanctuary that exceeds the expectations of residents, family members, volunteers, and the staff. Maintaining a healing environment for residents, their families, staff, volunteers and the community. This includes oversight of the maintenance, food services, and volunteer functions of the ministry.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

· Provide direction to the food and facilities program of Francis House.

· Provide direction and oversight to the volunteer program including developing, updating, and responding to the needs of volunteers identified by the Executive Director and administrators of Resident Care, maintenance and facilities, spiritual care, and The Sister Kathleen Center. 

· Ensure the houses are neat, clean, uncluttered; all systems of the house are in working order. The houses should smell and look clean with up-to-date furnishing, paint colors, resident rooms and bathrooms, etc. Ensure the houses are tastefully decorated for the holidays and seasons, as well as assist with contingency plans when anticipating inclement weather conditions. 

· Ensure the houses are a place of healing. This includes attending to the needs of all who enter. Ensure resident rooms are ready prior to admitting a new resident into the home. 

· Work with the departmental staff and the guiding and grounds committee of the board to prepare the annual budget for food, maintenance, improvements, and anticipated capital expenditures.

· Ensure that benefactor and memorial plaques, commemorations, and mementos are maintained and showcased appropriately throughout the house. 

· Pastoral and spiritual care duties including mentoring and role-modeling the Francis House mission and CORE Values for staff, caregivers, volunteers, and for the larger community. 

· Be available for direct spiritual care for residents, their families, staff, volunteers, caregivers and visitors. 

· Offer and coordinate integrative/spiritual care therapies as needed and be available for other pastoral care duties as needed.


Requirements

 Accountabilities: 

· Support and demonstrate the organization’s mission, vision and Core Values.

· Demonstrate a commitment to Francis House philosophy of care.

· Demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of death, dying, bereavement, ethical issues, palliative and spiritual care.

· Comply with the health and safety requirements of federal, state and local laws.

· Maintain organization and client confidentiality at all times.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position directly supervises the Facilities and Procurement Manager. 

Education and Experience: 

· BA degree or higher preferred

· Work experience of 5-10 years

· Supervisory and project management experience required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Ability to work with and function as a team member at all levels within the organization.

· Ability to respect the dignity of all who serve and are served.

· Ability to communicate with others in a courteous and professional manner. 

· Maintain organization and client confidentiality at all times.

· Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Must demonstrate excellent organizational/planning skills.

· Recognizes needs/necessary improvements and takes initiative to address these issues.

Equipment Used: 

· Computer, printer, telephone

· Computer Software: Office 365, Volunteer and Donor software. 

Physical and Mental Requirements:

· Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, lift, use fingers, grasp, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wrists.

· Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to move objects.

· Light mental and visual attention required for performing work where there is some variety but actions taken and decisions made are limited to few possibilities. Work requires some coordination with others.

Environmental Conditions:

· Work is performed in a typical office work and medical environment.

Francis House is an EOE.
