Coordinator of Volunteers and Interns

The Volunteer Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the organization's volunteer program by overseeing the recruitment, initial phases of onboarding, and overall management of volunteers. This position requires a dynamic leader who is outgoing and shares a passion for community service. The volunteer coordinator will demonstrate ability to cultivate relationships with diverse groups of people. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, organized, community-oriented, and creative.

• Collaborate with the Training Department to implement training programs for volunteers to ensure they are well-prepared and informed.
  
• Lead recruitment initiatives that are centered on attracting new volunteers and interns by fostering partnerships with local educational institutions.
  
• Manage volunteer database to track volunteer activities and engagement.
  
• Lead efforts in recruiting volunteers through various channels, including social media platforms, community events, and outreach programs.
  
• Collaborate with program directors to coordinate volunteer schedules.
  
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment for volunteers and interns by providing ongoing support, feedback, and recognition.
  
• Collaborate with other departments to identify volunteer needs and opportunities within the organization.
  
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of volunteer programs, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
  
• Demonstrate strong leadership with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse group of volunteers and interns.
  

Requirements

Education

• Associates Degree 
  
• Bachelors Degree in Communications, Human Services, Business Administration preferred
  

• at least 1-2 years of proven experience in volunteer or internship management or related experience 
  
• 1-2 years of proven experience demonstrating a strong commitment to community service preferred
