Property Accounting Coordinator

St. Louis, MO

Panera is actively seeking a Property Accountant to be responsible for preparing fixed assets related journal entries and account reconciliations, performing various analyses on topics including asset retirement obligations and depreciation, and providing any needed support for other departments within the organization.  Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of one to two years of experience.


Accountabilities:

  • Process and book journal entries for asset additions, retirements, and transfers within the fixed asset subledger in a timely manner.
  • Calculate and journalize asset retirement obligation accruals, capital salaries, development overhead, etc.
  • Complete monthly account reconciliations.
  • Identify and code capital invoices and purchase orders for payment processing. 
  • Assist in gathering documentation for internal and external audits of assets and related internal controls.
  • Perform fixed asset subledger procedures for period-end close.
  • Communication with bakery-cafes and district managers as well as support center accountants for proper recording of capital expenditures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required - Accounting preferred.
  • 1-2 year of experience in accounting is preferred.
  • Ability to process a high volume of purchase orders, invoices, and multi-task.
  • Ability to use critical thinking to make decisions.
  • Ability to communicate with many different levels of people in and outside the company. 
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
  • Ability to work well independently with expanding duties and responsibilities.
  • Skilled in customer service and problem resolution.
