Co-Products Outside Sales Rep

 Join Aztalan Bio as an Agriculture Biofuels Co-Products Outside Sales Rep and help support a growing, innovative biorefinery in Jefferson, WI. The production of ethanol generates valuable co-products, including distillers grains, high-pro low-fat distillers, and bran syrup. These by-products are essential substitutes for corn and soybean meal in animal feed rations, used globally to nourish a range of livestock such as beef and dairy cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, and fish.  This role requires a blend of marketing awareness, customer relationship management, and strategic insight to drive sales and support the company's goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Sell wet co-products as required with a focus on direct farmer purchases.
• Manage physical and sales position of assigned wet co-products.
• Conduct regular market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and price fluctuations. Use this information to develop and adjust marketing strategies.
• Provide ongoing support to customers to address any issues or concerns with product quality, delivery, or contract terms.
• Develop solutions to improve customer satisfaction and retention. 
• Develop and maintain sales forecasts based on market analysis and historical data. Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to management. 
• Plan and execute promotional campaigns or marketing initiatives to increase product visibility and attract new customers. 
• Develop strategic partnerships with other businesses or organizations that could enhance market reach or provide additional value to customers. 
• Build and maintain strong relationships with area end users through consistent communication and farm visits. Coordinates with Logistics Specialist to schedule delivery of product to end users.  
• Enter sales contracts into the grain accounting system.
• Monitor customer payments and manage shipping schedule in accordance with credit terms.
• Focus on retaining current customers by addressing their concerns, enhancing satisfaction through personalized support, and implementing solutions to strengthen long-term relationships. 

  Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in business, agriculture, a related field, or related work experience.
• 3-5 years of experience working in the grain, livestock feed, and/or ethanol industry. 
• Strong knowledge of commodities markets and trends.
• Strong understanding of the grain merchandising process.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable drivers record.

Work Environment & Physical Demands 

• The work environment is an office setting as well as traveling to farms approximately 60-80% of the time. 
• Employee will be required to stand, walk, and occasionally lift supplies, products, or equipment is required.
• Employee must be able to operate a motorized vehicle. 
• This position may enter the plant environment, in which the employee may be exposed to moderate to high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, and/or to chemicals used in the process.
