Core2 Reliability Maintenance Technician - Soda Springs

As a Core2 Reliability Maintenance Technician, you play a vital role in maintaining the operational efficiency of the Soda Springs plant. Your responsibilities include complying with all workplace standards and safety procedures, performing equipment repairs, and contributing to the development and revision of maintenance SOPs and JSAs. You will ensure adherence to production and shutdown schedules as outlined by Production Planning.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Comply with all workplace standards and safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, OSHA requirements, SOPs, Employee Safety Program, PPE requirements, Confined Space preparation and entry, work at elevated heights, and other Company Guidelines;
• Perform equipment repairs across all areas of the plant and provide input and assistance in developing and revising maintenance SOPs and JSAs;
• Repair various pump types, including application identification, removal, tolerance verification and setting, impeller clearances, installation, repair, alignment, balancing, and seal replacement;
• Identify and understand applications of mechanical transmission equipment, perform tolerance verification, install, repair, and align various types, troubleshooting arrangements, lubrication requirements, drive couplings, and sheaves;
• Repair and align material handling equipment, including screw conveyors, bucket elevators, and conveyor belts;
• Utilize skills in Pipe/Structural/Specialty Welding, Machine Tool, Agitator & Drives, Precision Preventative Maintenance, Ironwork/Sheet metal;
• Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervision.

WHO YOU ARE:

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Driver’s License;
• High School Diploma or GED;
• Internal Soda Springs candidate with Mechanical Maintenance Skills (Rung 2 Mechanical) and demonstrated skills in documented work such as welding, PMs, Lube, and other applicable task assignments; OR
• Five years of industrial experience in maintenance of mechanical systems in an applicable industry; OR
• Five years of industrial experience in a fabrication shop, demonstrating a high level of fabrication skill; OR
• Vocational technology degree in industrial mechanics (i.e., welding, machine, etc.) and three years of applicable experience.

Competencies:

• Ability to apply information in General Maintenance training curriculum;
• Ability to read mechanical design drawings;
• Ability to apply information in various mechanical maintenance training curricula;
• Ability to apply MOC process;
• Completion of compliance training;
• Ability to apply information in SAP General Maintenance training course;
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and team skills.
