Job Title: Co-Responder

Job Summary:

In alignment with our agency's mission, vision, values, and goals, you will partner with the Independence Police Department to provide essential crisis intervention. We are looking for someone who is adaptable, maintains professionalism under stress, and is committed to connecting individuals with behavioral health treatment.
As a Co-Responder, you will have the opportunity to engage directly with those in need, facilitating access to resources and support while ensuring their safety and well-being. Your role will help navigate the complexities of behavioral health care, paving the way for continuity of care within our community.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Independence Police Department to conduct crisis intervention and respond to community needs.
Coordinate services and develop local systems of care for individuals with behavioral health challenges.
Adhere to safety guidelines and provide assistance during involuntary detention as necessary.
Document all interventions and ensure compliance with agency standards.
Attend conference calls, webinars, and required training sessions, while performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Crisis Services.
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field required.
Master's Degree or higher is preferred.
Prefer crisis intervention experience.
Must be able to pass a background check as required by Independence Police Department.
Additional Qualifications:
Current driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Must complete New Hire Orientation and all training requirements, including Relias.
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Repetitive movements are required for typing and writing throughout the work shift.
Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
