Position Summary:

The Corn Cooker reports to the production supervisor and is a key member of our “Julio’s Family. This position’s

primary role is responsible for cooking corn properly with required ingredients

and specifications.

 Job Duties:

Responsible for following all food safety policies and procedures, current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), SSOP’s and HACCP plan

Records cooking procedures on the daily checklist.

Transfers corn to cooking tanks.

Adds required ingredients and mixes corn.

Monitors the corn’s temperature.

Cools the corn until it is ready for use.

Notifies the corn grinder operator when the corn is ready for grinding.

Monitors the corn silos during emptying.

Promptly reports any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to

immediate supervisor.

Assists in other positions as required.

 Qualifications:

                 NO EXPERIENCEREQUIRED- WILL TRAIN

·        

Excellent communication skills (including listening, writing, speaking) required.

Strong Organizational skills required.

Ability to perform math (add, divide, fractions, percentages).

Ability to conduct on-going interpersonal interactions, analyze and solve

problems.

Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work.

Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software and the ability to navigate and research the Internet.

Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

High School diploma or general education degree preferred but not required.

Working Environment:

Manufacturing environment in a food manufacturing facility.

High ambient temperatures

Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as non-slip footwear, hairnets, beard nets and ear protection.

 Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and move heavy materials up to a minimum of 50 pounds.

·        

Employees will be subject to dust, noise, and odor.

·        

The physical activity of this position includes, but is limited to routine walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling,

lifting, grasping, and visual activity.

Schedule:

8–12-hour shift (morning, afternoon. or evening) Weekends / Potential Overtime
