This individual will be responsible for creating and overseeing the legal framework that enables our team to drive ARR growth while ensuring compliance and managing legal risks effectively. Strong candidates will be solutions-driven and independent, with direct experience drafting and negotiating software, cloud, and channel agreements.
Primary Duties:
- Lead and scale the legal function to address the growing needs of a high-performing sales team.
- Develop and implement legal strategies that support business objectives and facilitate revenue growth
- Implement and scale AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to help increase overall impact
- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of matters, including contracts, compliance, intellectual property, and risk management
- Work closely with sales and business development teams to ensure legal terms are favorable while mitigating risks
- Foster a collaborative and solution-oriented environment that balances emotional intelligence (EQ) with legal expertise (IQ)
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure the company’s compliance and protect its interests
- Ensure alignment with company values and goals
Requirements:
- Have a J.D. degree, be admitted to practice law and be a member in good standing of the California bar
- 3-5 years of relevant contract management experience, particularly negotiating large, complex enterprise agreements with F500 customers
- Experience in privacy and data protection laws including HIPAA, FINRA, GDPR and CCPA
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws. Knowledge of UK and EU laws is a plus
- Experience working on a team with both local and overseas members
- Flexibility and willingness to work on a wide range of complex matters with minimal supervision, often in a time-sensitive and extremely fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation skills and a track record of establishing strong working relationships
The base pay range for this role is posted above. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
