Job Description - Corporate Event Designer

Corporate Event Designer

Event Sales & Design Consultant

Zilli Hospitality Group | Brookfield, WI | Full-Time

The Opportunity, At a Glance

  • Earning potential: $60,000-$70,000 base salary + bonus potential discussed at interview.

  • Your leads: a mix of inbound inquiries already interested in Zilli and the relationships and referrals you build yourself.

  • Your support system: full culinary, operations, production and venue teams behind every proposal, so your job is the vision and the close, not the execution.

  • Your book: you own your pipeline from first conversation to signed contract, and every relationship you build keeps paying off in repeat and referral business.

Own the Client Journey from Inquiry to Booking

At Zilli Hospitality Group, our Event Designers are often among the first people a client meets. A corporate client may have an objective, a guest count and no idea what the event should look like yet. A nonprofit may be searching for a way to make an annual gala feel entirely new.

That is where you come in.

As an Event Designer, you will take a prospective client from inquiry to idea to proposal to booked event. You will ask the questions that uncover what matters to them, help them imagine what is possible, and bring together food, beverage, service, space, design and experience into a proposal that feels thoughtful, exciting and personal. And then you will ask for the business.

This is a role for someone who loves the creative side of events and gets equally excited about winning the sale.

What You'll Do

  • Own a pipeline of corporate and nonprofit opportunities from first inquiry to signed contract

  • Respond to and develop qualified event leads

  • Build relationships with prospective clients, and grow your own book through referrals and repeat business

  • Lead discovery conversations that uncover the purpose, priorities, preferences and possibilities behind an event

  • Translate those conversations into compelling event concepts and proposals

  • Recommend food, beverage, service, rentals, design elements and experiences that support the client's goals

  • Present proposals in a way that helps clients understand the value of the experience they are considering

  • Manage your pipeline from first conversation through signed contract

  • Follow up strategically and keep momentum moving throughout the buying process

  • Navigate questions around budget, priorities, options and investment with confidence

  • Maintain accurate sales activity, proposal and booking information

  • Consistently contribute to individual and company revenue goals

  • Continue developing relationships that lead to referrals, repeat business and future opportunities

What You'll Bring

  • Sales experience in events, catering, hospitality, or relationship-driven field

  • A track record of closing business and growing a book through relationships and referrals, and the drive and aptitude to get there fast

  • Comfort discussing budget and investment directly and confidently

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities at different stages all at the same time

  • A creative eye for design, food, beverage and experience, paired with genuine curiosity about what makes an event work

  • Clear, persuasive written and verbal communication, including proposal writing and client presentations

  • A collaborative mindset for working across culinary, operations, production and venue teams

  • Familiarity with CRM or sales pipeline tools is a plus

You'll Love This Role If

You hear "new inquiry" and immediately want to know more. You can talk with someone for twenty minutes and begin seeing their event in your head. You love putting ideas together, and you also love the moment a client says, "This is exactly what we were looking for."

You follow up because you are genuinely interested in earning the business. You can manage several opportunities at different stages without losing sight of what each client cares about.

You understand that a beautiful proposal is the beginning of the conversation, and you know how to present it, explain it, refine it and move the client toward a decision.

You have taste, curiosity and ideas. You also have drive. You want to book business.
