Job Description - Corporate Recruiter - Urgent Role

Position Purpose/Summary: The Recruiter research, develops, and implements effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization. Participates in candidate review process with hiring managers including proper collection and retention of documentation and tracking of all candidate status.

Direct Reports : None Knowledge-Skills-Abilities

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business-related field or equivalent work experience expected
  • Additional certification is helpful but must be relatable to duties and responsibilities, i.e. PHR or SPHR.

Experience (years and topics):

  • 3-5 years of singular talent sourcing proficiency in diverse and cyclical business environment.
  • Preferred to have in-house recruiting experience servicing multi-site, multi-department, and multi-business needs.
  • Experience in creating and implementing sourcing strategies for a variety of positions including manufacturing, office staff, low skill, complex technical, and executive level positions.
  • Specific experience conducting administrative tasks using ATS.
  • Knows how to talent source using social media and forward-facing technology platforms.
  • Proficient with job description creation, advertisement script development, and correspondence to candidates, hiring managers, or agencies.
  • Progressive proven relationship development effort with successful measurement.
  • Applicable knowledge of HR activities and how they support the total topic.
  • Demonstrated team member, fostering partnerships in cross functional activities and projects.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed to achieve expectations set by others.
  • Strong sense of urgency and can stay on track despite distractions and multiple task demands.
  • Beyond reproach ethics and confidentiality character.
  • Organized so as to keep up with work, information, respond to inquiries, and others can find what they need in your workstation.
  • Proficient in negotiating.
  • Able to gather meaningful data, analysis and present reasoned outcome.
  • Capable to work under pressure on a regular basis.
  • Strong ability to problem solve and judge situations

Technology/Software (years):

  • Excellent computer skills particularly with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and email.
  • Database and information management using HRIS is necessary, including ability to mine and report on information (i.e. Ascentis).
  • Applicant Tracking System (ATS) proficiency.

Communication:

  • Outstanding written, oral, interpersonal, and outward behavior communication ability.
  • Proficiency for listening well.
  • Demonstrated talent for understanding your audience and how to communicate your message effectively to them.
  • Comfortable in uncomfortable situations such as negotiation, unfavorable outcome of effort discussion, urgent and alarmist work volume, and other generally heightened situations.

Physical Capabilities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands along with fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. May need to lift or move weight up to 20lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Position Responsibilities-Tasks-Deliverables

All duties as assigned and the following specific activities.

  • Processes job requisitions and manages current candidate activity in the company's applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Establish recruiting needs by being knowledgeable on organizational plans and meeting with managers to discuss current and future needs.
  • Analyze business operations to determine sourcing needs.
  • Coordinates with hiring manager(s) to determine best recruiting process for position(s).
  • Acts as liaison with area employment agencies.
  • Overall candidate oversight.
  • Accountable to tracking all recruiting expenses.
  • Conducts initial phone interviews and relays pertinent information to hiring managers.
  • Ensures employee referral activity is recorded and submitted to payroll as needed.
  • Assists with orientation of new employees.
  • Follows up with related clerical aspects of employment, such as employment onboarding forms, notifying the department heads and IT of employee's starting date and correct equipment set up.
  • Coordinates background checks and pre-employment drug tests
  • Submits weekly reporting on employment activity to manager.
  • Uses resources such as career fairs, job search platforms, social media recruiting to identify and attract quality candidates.
  • Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruiting process.
  • Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers such as benefits, compensation, etc.
  • Produces job descriptions as needed.
  • Provides compensation analysis as needed.
  • Responsible for recruiting metrics and reports as needed.
  • Creates community engagement to tap into alternative candidate pipeline options.
  • Able to participate as a HR Generalist when needed, particularly for special projects or slow hiring activity periods.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

On-going outcome that is measurable (minimum of 3)

  • Conducts first contact activity for all new applicants within 24 hours of application submission.
  • Provides assigned metrics and needed reporting to manager monthly.
  • Contributes to sustained employee headcount growth and retention.
  • Avoids outside or additional fees by demonstrating creative talent sourcing options.
  • Contributes to the team success through quality work and reliability including attendance, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Maintains ATS system so that data is accurate and reportable.
