Job Description - Corporate Relationship Officer


Position Summary:

Under the guidance and supervision of Director of Development, the Corporate Relationship Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of current and prospective corporate partners by planning and implementing strategies for dentification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship off businesses within our 30 County footprint. 

The Corporate Relationship Officer will focus on strategically expanding the organization's corporate partnerships with a goal of significantly increasing the number of corporate partners through relationship building and business prospect and donor management. The Corporate Relationship Officer is a key member of the development team. This is a full-time exempt position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop corporate relationships that result in large philanthropic contributions and impact-focused engagements for GSHPA through personal visits, email correspondence, phone and video meetings, and presentations with corporate prospects and partners.
  • Analyze relationship trends to develop proactive engagement strategies with corporate donors, document real-time relationship touchpoints and status, and update financial projections for assigned portfolio using Raiser’s Edge database.
  • Record, track and communicate sponsorship commitments and ensure deliverables are met for every GSHPA sponsor.
  • Create opportunities, where appropriate, for the Director of Development to engage with prospective complex and large donors as part of donor cultivation and stewardship.
  • Leverage current corporate and business contacts to create additional fund development opportunities. 
  • Participate in the creation of the annual development plan. 
  • Work closely with Marketing and Communications to develop and manage consistent messaging to donors and prospects that aligns with solicitation and donor-specific stewardship communications.
  • Coordinate all aspects of timely and effective donor recognition and stewardship.
  • Coordinate with the Grants Manager when potential grant prospects arise from corporate and foundation engagements.
  • Work closely with Program Partner Coordinator to review each potential corporate partner for both in kind, as well as monetary contributions. 
  • Attend community events and speaking engagements on behalf of the organization.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports on donor activity.
  • Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of council-wide initiatives and/or cross functional teams to further the mission of GSHPA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. 
  • Five years of fundraising experience and proven track record for securing gifts.
  • Experience in assessing business interests and determining cultivation strategies with sensitivity to organizational dynamics and an ability to understand corporate marketing goals and interests required.
  • Ability to define and advance proposals matching the funder’s needs and interests to GSHPA’s programs.
  • Ability to collect, organize and analyze data related to corporate donor giving.
  • Well versed in direct mail and digital solicitation best practices and implementation.
  • Proficient in donor database formats; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be strategic and forward thinking.
  • The ability to be motivated and a self-starter.
  • The ability to take direction and multi-task.
  • Positive attitude and passion for playing a role in fulfilling the organization's mission.
  • Considerable knowledge of fundraising techniques and sources of funding.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Work a flexible schedule, to include nights and weekends as needed.
  • Pass and maintain required background clearances.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; access to reliable transportation required.
  • Travel throughout the council, as needed.
  • Sitting, standing, or walking for a moderate period of time is required.
  • Lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
