Job Description - Corporate Safety Director


The Contingent Plan is actively recruiting a corporate EHS director for its client headquartered in the Twin Cities. This is a hybrid role with the expectation that the person will be onsite at the corporate office a few days a week. However, there is flexibility in what that will look like. Thus, the client is only interested in candidates that are currently in the Twin Cities or that can be to start the position.

The person selected for this role will have a direct impact on the safety programs of the organization. Compensation is competitive and depends on experience. Responsibilities:



  • Own and enforce compliance with all OSHA regulations for the company while maintaining awareness of OSHA rule changes and evolving standards.

  • Build a strong safety culture with a diverse staff across multiple locations including high hazard settings.

  • Review internal safety policies and develop or enhance safety programs as appropriate.

  • Identify opportunities for improving safety within the operations and make recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Manage the safety budget and lead the internal safety professionals

  • Support external audits or implement curative action plans to resolve any safety audit findings.

  • Serve as the key point of escalation for any accidents and incidents with responsibility over all reporting and risk management action plans










Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, business, or related field.

  • At least 5 - 10 years of progressive EHS experience.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or ASP with ability to obtain the CSP within 12 months of hire.

  • Prior safety leadership experience.

  • Ability to travel as needed for projects is estimated at 10%.

  • Prior experience with workers' compensation claims, risk management, and training.

  • Demonstrated interest in growing with an organization and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment while remaining the safety advocate at all times.
