Job Description

Opportunity

 

We are a seeking a Corporate Audit Director to manage the day-to-day operations of our US based auditing team.

 

The successful candidate will report to our Auditing Vice President to develop annual audit plans, staffing plans, and budgets.

 

You will be instrumental guiding the auditing team’s mission to help us improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of our risk management, internal control, operational, and governance processes.

 

As part of this team, the successful candidate will perform audit risk assessments and develop audit programs in conjunction with the assigned internal auditor.

 

You will oversee the audits performed by the team and provide guidance to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our internal controls and operational processes.

 

This role includes maintaining and updating internal department procedures and, if warranted, making recommendations for improvement.

 

You will also personally conduct selected audits. Maintaining an objective and disciplined approach to evaluate our current procedures and practices will be a key to your success.

 

Our audits provide assurance that:

 

  • Financial and managerial information is accurate, reliable, and timely

 

  • Risks are identified and managed

 

  • Effective interaction exists among governance groups

 

  • Actions are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures

 

  • Activities are free of fraud and abuse

 

  • Resources are economically acquired, efficiently used, and adequately protected

 

 

We anticipate 30% of the audits will be financial based and the remainder focused on other aspects of our operational practices - such as procurement, safety, quality, project controls, contract compliance, etc. 

 

Qualifications

Relocation is not offered for this position, so strong preference will be given to candidates who are local to either Washington, DC, or Glendale, CA.

 

  • 15+ years of related experience, preferably including significant audit experience and work in the engineering or construction industry with governmental clients

 

  • Managerial experience in a complex organizational structure

 

  • CPA or CIA certification preferred

 

  • Bachelors Degree in an accounting, engineering or construction management related discipline, MBA is preferred
  • Ability to travel 25% domestically
