Corporate Used Vehicle Buyer

The Used Vehicle Buyer at Winrock Automotive is responsible for acquiring used-car inventory through various channels, including direct contacts, leads, auctions, and customer inquiries. This role requires strong negotiation skills, an understanding of retail trends, and a commitment to delivering premium customer experience. The position demands a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment, focusing on meeting car buying quotas and adapting to market changes.

• Acquire used-car inventory through direct contacts, generated leads, off-site auctions, dealers, and internet inquiries.


• Appraise vehicles, understand their condition, negotiate prices, and make financially sound purchasing decisions.


• Ensure timely processing of all purchases.


• Understand retail trends and participate in the inventory planning process.


• Deliver a premium customer experience by responding to inquiries promptly and professionally.


• Work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and as a self-starter when needed.


• Generate leads and create appointments by researching the used car market.


• Meet car buying quotas.


• Understand market tendencies and changes in trends across geographic areas.

• Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency


• Strong VAuto understanding


• Prior experience in vehicle buying, sales, or a related automotive field


• A deep understanding of the used car market, pricing trends, and how to evaluate vehicle condition and reconditioning costs


• Experience as used car manager or used car buyer highly recommended


• Excellent written and oral communication skills.


• Critical thinking skills to evaluate alternative solutions and approaches.


• Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in the state of residence.
