Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Compliance Coordinator to oversee the implementation of a consent decree for The County and The County Sheriff's Office. This role will collaborate closely with a court-appointed monitor and will report to both The County and The County Sheriff's Office attorneys. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in correctional facility operations, a passion for maintaining standards, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Gather critical information required by the court-appointed monitor to ensure full compliance with the consent decree.

  • Coordinate activities related to compliance and the implementation of the decree across various departments.

  • Facilitate the provision of data, documents, and access to key personnel.

  • Ensure proper maintenance of documents and records in accordance with consent decree requirements.

  • Assign compliance-related tasks to appropriate County or Sheriff's Office staff, ensuring timely and accurate completion.


Qualifications:



  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in correctional facility operations, with a preference for pre-trial detention experience.

  • Expertise in project management, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders efficiently.

  • Background in software implementation and management, including familiarity with correctional facility systems.

  • Supervisory experience, including leading teams and ensuring accountability.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate with diverse teams.

  • A keen understanding of compliance and legal processes, with the ability to translate legal requirements into practical implementation.

  • Preferred: Juris Doctorate (JD) or law enforcement experience/training.


Reporting Structure:
The Compliance Coordinator will report equally to:



  • The County Attorney

  • The Sheriff's Chief Legal Counsel


Performance evaluation and selection will be jointly supervised by both parties, with any disputes mediated by the court-appointed Monitor.
