Cost Accountant

Responsible for analyzing and managing an organization's costs, ensuring financial efficiency, and providing insights for budgeting and financial decision-making. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Analyze the cost structure of the business, including engineering services, labor, and overhead, to identify inefficiencies and recommend cost-saving measures. 
• Develop and maintain budgets, ensuring that all expenses are well-planned and justified. 
• Prepare detailed reports on cost analysis, budget variances, and financial forecasts to assist management in decision making.
• Work closely with other departments, such as finance and operations, to gather data and provide insights that support strategic planning.
• Monitor and analyze inventory costs, ensuring accurate accounting for inventory and fixed assets.
• Assisting with month-end closing process ensuring the proper documentation.
• Preparing audit reports and presenting their findings to management.
• Recommending changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and      maximize profit.
• Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial      data.
• Managing the company’s balance sheet and accounting books.
• Experience doing monthly R&D, P&L, and Cash Forecast is important.
• Familiarity working with a services company (engineering). Or R&D controller type background. 

•  Advanced SAP experience - will create and maintain associated projects, records, and cost centers within SAP.
• 8-10 years’ experience as a Cost Account or R&D assistant controller. 
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and identify trends or discrepancies.
• A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with 
• accounting standards. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present findings and recommendations effectively.
• Familiarity with accounting software and tools (SAP), as well as advanced Excel skills for data analysis.  
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. 
• Professional certification such as a CMA (Certified Management Account) is preferred.
