Cost Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY

The Cost Accountant supports the Accounting Dept. by performing duties defined in, but not limited to, the essential functions of the position, including prioritizing and meeting timely scheduled requirements.

Job Summary:

• Providing support to crews
• Providing information and reports to management
• Coding various transactions with appropriate account coding
• Completing and/or assisting with entry uploads
• Completing entries (i.e.. general ledger), as needed
• Preparing reconciliations
• Preparing & analyzing cost/trend information
• Assisting with various projects (i.e.. accounting, performance improvement, process documentation, etc.)
• Cross-training & assisting with other departmental duties, as needed
• Serving as lead or backup for duties, as assigned

Basic Qualifications 

Education:   Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred 

Skills/Qualifications: 

Telephone Skills, Verbal Communication, Microsoft Office Skills (Excel & Access experience a plus), Operate business machines, Listening, Professionalism, Customer Focus, Organization, Informing Others, Handles Pressure, Supply Management

Other Requirements:

Must be able to multi-task and adapt to change quickly, while remaining professional and courteous.  The successful candidate will be motivated and have the ability to work well on their own, as well as communicate well with the public, fellow employees and supervisors.
