Our Estimator is responsible for timely completion of bid requests, order management and working with operations to ensure successful completion of each project. Our Estimator reports to the Manager of Estimating and Project Management.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Work with the sales team to control client information and requests for quotations (RFQ).
- Create accurate and complete quotations for projects of all sizes and types, in a timely manner.
- Consolidate and hand-off successful bid packets (drawings, routings, specifications, etc.) to engineering.
- Work with operations to ensure successful completion of each project.
- Create a positive environment in customer negotiations to maximize revenue.
- Provide the Manager of Estimating and Project Management with reports on bids won/lost “closing” rates.
Experience Desired:
- Prefer (1) year of estimating experience in a manufacturing or commercial environment.
- Understanding of costs and their relationship to Manufacturing and Estimating process.
- Excellent communication skills with customers, suppliers and employees.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Ability to visualize and interpret customer drawings, designs, layouts and specifications; able to perform take-offs using architectural drawings.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong Skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, & Outlook) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
