Cost/Inventory Accountant

Description

The Cost/Inventory Accountant is responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and competencies are essential for success in this role:

• In-depth knowledge of inventory and cost accounting principles
• Oversight and execution of Accounts Payable processes, including invoice processing and payment issuance
• Management of Accounts Receivable processes, including customer correspondence, collections, and statement generation
• Maintenance and tracking of fixed assets
• Participation in financial and other accounting-related audits
• Support in other accounting functions as assigned

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to sort large amounts of data (Pivot Tables, VLookup, etc)
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar organization)
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to adapt and work independently
• Team-oriented, with a willingness to assist in other departmental areas when needed
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
• Experience in the automotive industry preferred but not required
