POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Counseling Manager
DEPARTMENT: Counseling Services
REPORTS TO: Career Services Director
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
Job Summary: Leads, directs, delivers and manages Job Corps counseling functions, programs, activities, and related events, in compliance with U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) National and Regional Offices, corporate, project and other applicable regulations, policies, requirements and mandates. Ensures case management services are delivered using asset-based youth development.
Duties:
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience: 15 semester hours of instruction in social services-related instruction, and 2 years’ experience in counseling or related field, plus two years’ experience working with youth and young adults.
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid State Drivers’ License.

Specific vision capabilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level can vary from moderate to loud.
