Gateway Rehab Centers (GRC) has a need for a Counselor in our Mt. Responsibilities:

• Facilitates discussion groups and activities.
•  Monitors patient behavior.
• Conducts handbook orientation.  
• Assists patients in the completion of patient assessment forms. Assists with phone calls to family members/friends and referral sources.
• Assists with crisis intervention.
• Transports patients to meetings.
• Documents involvement with patients in progress notes.
•  Collects urine and completes paperwork for drug screening as necessary.
• Provides post-discharge contacts/referrals under the therapist's direction.
•  Completes intake paperwork as needed.
• Attends mandatory GRC training and in-services. 
• Provides coverage in Youth and Young Adult Program.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of 12-step programs and/or addictions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED 

Preferred Qualifications

• Some college 

Other Requirements:

• Pass a PA Criminal Background Check
• Obtain PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances 
• Pass Drug Screen
• TB Test 
• Must have a valid driver's license and a favorable driving record.

• Moderate mental demands to respond to patients' simultaneous requests.
