Counter Sales Associate

Atlantic Lift Systems Counter Sales Representative must be able to service customers in a polite, friendly and professional manner whether in person, via email or on the telephone.  Must assist them with rental reservations, sales, contracts, questions, register transactions and order adjustments.  The Counter Sales Associate will help facilitate duties between the parts and rental departments and drive business through recommending items to customers that meet their needs expedited service.  This position would also be responsible for inside sales, where they would be provided lists of customers to contact, and generating new accounts and business.

Position Tasks & Activities:

• Works cross-functionally between outside sales reps, branch operations personnel and rental coordinator/drivers.
• Answers inbound calls/emails, greets walk-in customers, and makes recommendations to meet customers’ needs.
• Willingness to cross train in parts, logistics and service dispatch positions to serve as backup for the team. 
• Works within Salesforce to keep track of activities, enter orders, generate quotes, process payments, and close out reservations.
• Handles order entry, reservations & logistics of small tool rentals on behalf of the outside sales team.
• Cleans showroom and equipment.  Arranges showroom displays.  Keeps shelves organized, stocked and clean.
• Inventories retail sales merchandise and advises supervisor of low levels of merchandise.
• Assists customer with the loading and unloading of equipment when necessary. May also need to demonstrate safety features and operational features of the equipment.
• May fill customer’s propane cylinders from time to time.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form.
• Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations and security in store.
• Attend department, sales and safety meetings.
• Perform other duties as requested

Working Conditions:   Must stand for long periods of time. Most work will be indoors with limited exposure to outside elements.  The job requires constant interaction with the public. May have exposure to chemicals, including but not limited to gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, kerosene and cleaning solvents.

Experience Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Maintain, understand and present concise reporting on service and sales department metrics.
• Understand, analyze and speak to other employees regarding status of repairs and current orders.
• Strong computer skills are a must, knowledge of Microsoft Office and excel is desired, and any experience with Salesforce is a plus.
• Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Must be able to maintain a high degree of patience.
• Clean driving record is preferred, but not mandatory.
