Business Builder & Market Leader
This is not a functional leadership role â this is a full business leadership position with end-to-end responsibility for Japan.
You will lead Japan as a business with accountability across strategy, revenue growth, delivery oversight, people, governance, and market positioning.
You will act as the country leader responsible for building a scalable, credible, and high-performing Japan organization aligned with global strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Market Strategy & Business Growth (Japan)
- Define and execute Japan market strategy aligned with global priorities
- Drive revenue growth across existing clients and new business development
- Identify market expansion opportunities, partnerships, and ecosystem opportunities
- Support growth across consulting, regulatory, data, and digital service offerings
Country Leadership & P&L Ownership
- Own Japan business performance and P&L
- Establish governance, operating cadence, and performance metrics
- Balance growth, profitability, and operational risk
- Act as the single point of accountability for Japan business outcomes
Delivery Oversight & Client Success
- Ensure commercial success translates into high-quality delivery and client outcomes
- Align sales commitments with delivery capabilities
- Partner with global delivery teams to ensure execution excellence
- Act as escalation point for major client or delivery issues
Market Representation & Brand Building
- Represent the company in Japan with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders
- Build long-term executive relationships across the life sciences industry
- Represent the company at industry events, seminars, and forums
- Position the organization as a strategic partner rather than a vendor
Organization Building & Leadership
- Build and lead the Japan organization and team
- Support hiring, performance management, and organizational development
- Create a culture of accountability, transparency, and execution excellence
- Act as escalation point for people, performance, or operational issues
Global Leadership & Cross-Border Collaboration
- Act as the key interface between Japan and global leadership teams
- Translate global strategy into locally executable plans
- Ensure alignment across sales, delivery, finance, HR, and compliance functions
- Participate in global leadership reviews and planning cycles
