Courier PRN - Urgent Hire

Summary

The Courier is responsible for picking up specimens and transporting the samples to the laboratory for testing and processing.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

• Be always alert and aware to ensure safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Comply with all responsibilities noted in the Vehicle Use Agreement and Driver Responsibility Policy enforced by ADL.
• Pick up specimens in a timely manner and transport them in proper containers.
• Return specimens to the laboratory timely for testing and processing.
• Deliver supplies and results to Client sites in a timely manner.
• Advise the laboratory prior to the arrival of the sample count.
• Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork, including but not limited to, run sheet, mileage sheet and applicable attachments.
• Advise supervisor(s) of any changes or requests from clients so they may make the appropriate arrangements.
• Interact with clients, co-workers, and management in a professional courteous manner
• Rotate STAT coverage on a weekend and holiday basis.
• Maintain the cleanliness of Company vehicles.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA policies, procedures, and regulations to assure patient confidentiality.
• Adhere to safety standards.
• Adhere to personal appearance and dress code.
• Complete annual training
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• A reliable vehicle.
• A valid motor vehicle license with a good driving record
• Prior courier experience within the medical field preferred.
• Strong communication skills – written, verbal, and listening.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Possess a good sense of direction.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds, road warrior, sit for long periods of time, use hands to push or pull, reach, walk, and climb stairs.
