Cover/Tuber Machine Operator

Job Summary: 

The Cover/Tuber Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of both the Cumber and Tuber machines, which are essential in the production of high-quality rubber hoses. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment. 

Schedule: 

• Monday – Thursday 5:00am – 3:30pm  

Key Responsibilities: 

Machine Operation: 

• Set up, operate, and monitor the Cover and Tuber machines according to production schedules and product specifications. 
• Ensure correct materials (rubber, liners, reinforcements) are loaded and aligned properly for processing. 
• Perform changeovers, adjustments, and minor maintenance as needed to maintain machine uptime. 

Quality Control: 

• Inspect hoses during and after production for correct dimensions, wall thickness, and uniformity. 
• Follow established quality checks and document results to ensure compliance with company and customer standards. 
• Report any defects or inconsistencies to the supervisor or quality control department immediately. 

Safety & Compliance: 

• Operate machinery in a safe manner and in compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and plant safety protocols. 
• Wear and maintain the required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times. 
• Keep work area clean and organized to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment. 

Production Support: 

• Work closely with team members to meet daily and weekly production goals. 
• Communicate any equipment issues or production delays to the supervisor promptly. 
• Assist with other production-related tasks as needed, including material handling and machine cleaning. 
• Other duties as assigned.  

Work Environment: 

• This role is performed in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, heat, and rubber materials. 
• May require working overtime or rotating shifts based on production needs. 

Compensation: 

• $18.00 an hr.

 Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or GED required. 
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. 
• Experience operating industrial machinery (Cover, Tuber, or similar extrusion/wrapping machines) is highly desirable but not required.  
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and production specifications. 
• Basic math skills and ability to use measurement tools such as calipers and tape measures. 
• Must be able to stand, lift, bend, and work in a physically demanding environment for extended periods.
