Crane Operator

Position Summary

The Crane Operator is responsible for operating crane equipment to lift, move, and position loads according to job specifications safely and efficiently. This position plays a key role in ensuring that lifting operations are conducted safely while adhering to all industry regulations and company policies.

Essential Functions

• Operate cranes safely and efficiently, following all safety protocols and operational guidelines.
• Perform pre-operational inspections on cranes and rigging equipment.
• Communicate effectively with ground crew and signalers during lifting operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Load and unload materials according to specific guidelines and procedures.
• Maintain equipment logs and perform routine maintenance checks as necessary.
• Attend safety meetings and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct training for apprentices and new operators as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

• Must possess a valid crane operator certification (NCCCO or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating cranes in a construction or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, lifting techniques, and rigging practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, load charts, and job specifications.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Physical stamina and strength to handle the demands of the job.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and at heights.
• Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime as required.
