Crane Operator

We are looking for a Crane Operator for a Commerical job site in Quonset Rhode Island. The Crane Operator will be responsible for operating various types of cranes to lift, move, position, and place materials and equipment on construction, industrial, or maritime sites. This role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, state licensing requirements, and equipment maintenance standards.

Pay is $30-45 an hour

Key Responsibilities

• Operate mobile, tower, or overhead cranes in accordance with manufacturer instructions and job site safety regulations.


• Perform pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance checks on cranes and rigging equipment.


• Safely lift and position loads according to job specifications and signalperson guidance.


• Read and interpret lift plans, load charts, and blueprints to determine lifting requirements.


• Communicate clearly with ground personnel, riggers, and signalpersons to coordinate lifts.


• Monitor load weights and ensure crane operation remains within capacity limits.


• Maintain accurate equipment logs and inspection reports.


• Follow OSHA, NCCCO, and Rhode Island hoisting regulations at all times.

Qualifications

• Required:




• Rhode Island Hoisting Engineer License for applicable crane type(s).


• NCCCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) certification or equivalent.


• Minimum 2 years’ crane operating experience (may vary by employer).

• Strong knowledge of crane load charts, rigging, and lifting procedures.


• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.


• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
