Cardinal Staffing Services, is immediately hiring for a Crane Operator in Madison Heights, MI. As a Crane Operator for Cardinal Staffing you will be working in an innovative manufacturing facility where they are a leader in producing high quality structural steel tubing.
Cardinal Staffing Services is invested in their team members! This position has a competitive compensation of $18.80 per hour. Referral bonuses available!
Available shifts include 7am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday. Occasional overtime (5am to 3:30pm)
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate any overhead crane safely
- Operate any forklift safely
- Use the transfer buggy safely
- Perform Daily Operator Inspections on cranes and forklifts
- Remove tube bundles from the mills, keeping pace to avoid interruption of production
- Supply and remove tube at the saws, keeping pace to avoid interruption of production
- Plan in advance the use of floor areas to meet the storage needs of varying mill schedules
- Load any truck with bundles to be shipped.
- Weigh scrap from the mills, transfer, store, and load onto trucks as required
- Use slings, dunnage, and boarding ladders safely
- Rack stackers and dunnage when not in use
- Communicate and coordinate with Operations
- Provide additional crane and forklift service as needed
- Perform housekeeping as required to maintain a safe and efficient workplace
The Crane Operator is required to lead and/or direct the activities of:
- Crane Operator Trainees
- Forklift trainees
- Any and all temporary labor working in the department
