Job Description - Credit and Collections Representative

Position Summary

As a Credit and Collections Representative at Wolter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our company. You will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable aging of an assigned region or division, ensuring that receivables objectives and goals are met.

What You'll Do

Support Operational Departments:

Collaborate with management and the administrative team to ensure effective communication regarding outstanding invoices.
Ensure Compliance:

Implement systems and controls to adhere to our credit practices.
Maintain Records:

Keep current and accurate records of our customer base and outstanding invoices.
Key Responsibilities

Collect on Aging Accounts:

Regularly communicate with customers to collect on open accounts receivable.
Perform Credit Checks:

Approve orders, run credit reports, and recommend credit limit adjustments.
Prepare Documentation:

Create collection letters, payment plans, and prepare uncollectible accounts for third-party collections.
Process Payments:

Handle check requests for refunds, credit card payments, and account adjustments.
Resolve Disputes:

Work with operational personnel to resolve account disputes.
Review Financials:

Examine the general ledger for accounts receivable-related funds and research credits on accounts.
Handle Bankruptcies:

Prepare accounts and proofs of claim for bankruptcy cases.
Miscellaneous Reviews:

Oversee COD, lease, high-risk, and equipment aging.

What You Bring

Experience:

At least two years of experience in collections or customer service.
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Professionalism:

Demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and a commitment to our company’s vision and mission.
Work Environment

Physical Demands:

Frequent sitting, talking, and listening; occasional standing and walking; frequent use of hands; occasional lifting up to 30 pounds; occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
Vision Requirements:

Close, distance, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Noise Level:

Moderate (typical office environment).
