Job Description - Credit Associate II ($21.18 - $32.82 DOE)

**Description**

**Essential Duties**

Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures

Provide excellent customer service when dealing with credit issues in a fast-paced credit department.

May provide training, leadership, or mentoring to Credit Associate I

Post funds electronically from banks, credit cards, lock boxes, ACH and wires, terminal deposits and record monetary transactions

Maintain accurate and updated account records, initiate contact to resolve delinquency issues, and keep portfolio under targets

Initiates collection action by contacting customer, collaborating with the sales team, and securing payments according to company policy

Audit and review contract terms for sales, service, and credit against approved relationship check lists, and takes corrective action to resolve variances with team members

Gathers critical credit data and evaluates new customer application for extending credit terms and limits based on credit worthiness

Engage with third-party payors and customer payment portals to ensure timely payments

Research, identify, and resolve root causes for invoice disputes

Research and reconcile customer payment remittance posting issue to resolution

Provide clear communication and record all dispute contact notes in the appropriate system

Collaborate with Credit Manager on customer accounts, collection efforts, and outside collections/bankruptcies

Contribute to and promote ongoing continuous improvement efforts for the department

Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

**Qualifications**

Two to four years previous work experience in credit or related field

Associates degree in accounting or related discipline preferred

A combination of work related experience and/or education may be substituted

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**

Must be proficient in MS Office suite of applications including Word, Outlook and Excel

Working knowledge of computer-based accounting systems and their use

Proven ability to multi-task and work under pressure while meeting deadlines

Demonstrated attention to detail and work in a timely, accurate and efficient manner

Must work independently, be self-motivated, be a problem solver and goal oriented, and also work in a team environment

Must prioritize daily tasks and assignments

Must adapt to change in a positive and constructive manner

Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.

Must work well with internal departments, vendors, and customers

Must have an enthusiastic and positive work attitude with strong interpersonal skills

Must have excellent customer service skills

Ability to exhibit a professional attitude and appearance

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
