SUMMARY: The position is responsible for accounts receivable management for Customers in the assigned regions. This will include the collection of past due balances, investigation of the credit worthiness of new applications, and assignment of appropriate credit limits. The Credit Manager will administer the assigned credit responsibilities in a manner that will increase sales volume, contribute to the profit of the company and customer stability, and provide for the prompt turnover and adequate protection of Womack Machine Supply Company’s investment in accounts receivable. This position reports to the Corporate Credit Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform the required credit investigation process, utilizing up-to-date information on customers upon which to base a credit decision for an account. The investigation should be conducted with the view of finding reasons to approve credit while protecting Womack.
Establish and monitor customer credit lines within designated authority, including the timely release of orders after reviewing exposure of customer account.
Analyze delinquent accounts and initiate activity towards resolution of the delinquency.
Communicate with the sales team and develop strategies to resolve customer delinquencies.
Interact with customers to obtain additional credit information to support credit lines or improve payment.
Reconcile transactions and balances to maintain accurate accounts.
Initiate credits and adjustments to customer accounts within company policy limits.
Identify problem accounts and provide regular updates of receivables to sales and corporate management.
Negotiate payment programs with delinquent customers.
Identify accounts requiring collection agency or legal action and coordinate collections with third party contractors.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Finance, Accounting or related field from four-year college or university preferred but not required.
NACM Certification preferred but not required.
EXPERIENCE:
1 to 3 years’ experience as a credit manager in the distribution environment

Ability to write reports and business correspondence, effectively present information and communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and customers.
Solid decision-making skills.
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
Experience with Profit 21 (Epicor) a big plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some movement from area to area, transporting of items such as a laptop computer, printers, servers, paper, books, and small parts; driving an automobile, etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to general office environment. Overnight travel may be required, but seldom; work outside normal business hours is required from time to time.
