Position Summary – Crew Coordinator

American Safety Traffic Control is seeking a Crew Coordinator to support daily field operations by ensuring jobs are properly staffed, scheduled, and communicated. This role serves as a critical coordination point between contractors, field crews, supervisors, and internal teams to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

The Crew Coordinator is an office-based, salaried role with real-time decision responsibility. This position requires strong judgment, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, operational environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily and forward-looking crew schedules and job assignments
• Assign crews and equipment based on availability, certifications, and job requirements
• Communicate directly with contractors regarding job details, timing, changes, and expectations
• Serve as a primary scheduling and logistics contact for field crews
• Make real-time scheduling decisions to address call-outs, changes, delays, and coverage needs
• Update internal systems with accurate job, crew, and schedule information
• Coordinate with supervisors and fleet personnel to resolve staffing or equipment conflicts
• Track and document job changes, call-outs, cancellations, and schedule adjustments
• Escalate issues appropriately when coverage, safety, or feasibility concerns arise
• Maintain clear, professional communication with internal teams and external partners

This role may be filled at varying levels based on experience and demonstrated capability. Scope of responsibility and autonomy will align with the complexity of operations managed.

• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Comfort making operational decisions and communicating clearly under pressure
• Professional phone, email, and written communication skills
• Proficiency with scheduling systems, email, and standard office software
• Ability to work in an office-based role supporting early-morning and time-sensitive operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in scheduling, dispatch, coordination, or logistics roles
• Experience supporting field-based operations such as traffic control, utilities, construction, or similar industries
• Familiarity with workforce management, dispatch, or scheduling software
• Experience communicating with contractors, crews, or external partners
