Crew Leader / Site Utility & Excavation Operator

Description

Nixco Plumbing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crew Leader to lead and actively participate in the installation and repair of sewer, water, and storm lines for residential and commercial projects. This is a hands-on, year-round role requiring expertise in operating heavy equipment and managing site utility installations.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead a crew in the installation and repair of sewer, water, and storm lines. 
• Operate backhoes, track hoes, skid loaders, and dump trucks with a focus on safety and equipment maintenance. 
• Actively participate in construction tasks: clearing sites, laying pipes, installing fittings, and making necessary connections.  
• Ensure projects are completed efficiently, on schedule, and to high-quality standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in plumbing utility work, with 1+ year in a leadership role. 
• Working knowledge of grades, blueprints, and site layouts.
• Class A commercial driver's license preferred. 
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings (background, MVR, drug test). 
• Strong understanding of excavation safety, including trenching, traffic control, and confined space procedures. 

Employees must be able to pass pre-employment screening including a criminal background check, motor vehicle check and drug screening. Maintaining eligibility to operate company vehicles is a fundamental job requirement. All employees that operate company vehicles must maintain their driving record as insurable under the company's vehicle insurance provider.
