VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

CREW LEADER – Utilities Water Admin
STARTING SALARY: $45,039

We are seeking a dedicated Crew Leader to oversee the maintenance and repair of public works projects in the Utilities-Water Admin division. Join our team and help ensure the smooth operation of essential city services. **NOTE** This Vacancy is currently only open to current City of Fredericksburg Employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and direct crews in Public Works Utilities Water Admin and repair tasks
Assign, participate in, and inspect work performed by laborers and equipment operators
Locate existing utilities and assist contractors, builders, and homeowners with utility locations
Clean catch basins, maintain canal air stations, and assist with city water and sewer system repairs
Support emergency operations, including snow and ice removal and utility repairs

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Three years of experience in supervising public works maintenance and repairs
Valid commercial Class B or above driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia
Flagging certificate from the Virginia Department of Transportation
Preferred: Experience with CCTV of sewer systems
