Crew Member II - Utilities

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Utility Department Crew Member to join our team. Under direct supervision, you will perform a variety of semi-skilled labor tasks that require physical strength and stamina. This role involves operating various trucks and heavy equipment to support our utility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate utility trucks, roll-off trucks, water trucks, and dump trucks for snow and leaf removal.

• Sand icy or oily streets to ensure safety.

• Operate a forklift as needed.

• Assist with water and sewer crew repairs, new installations, and site clean-up.

• Participate in site restoration activities.

• Complete work orders and daily report paperwork accurately.

Qualifications:

• Ability to perform a full range of assigned duties with minimal supervision.

• Strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Effective communication skills with co-workers, supervisory staff, and customers.

• Must possess and maintain a valid Class B Virginia Commercial Driver’s License or obtain one within 6 months of employment.

• Successful completion of criminal background and driving record checks.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and work in varying weather conditions.
