Crew Member - Residential Concrete

Position Overview:
The Crew Member/Driver is responsible for operating company vehicles to transport materials and equipment to and from job sites. When not driving, this position requires hands-on support for crew members on site, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently. This position is contingent upon a successful background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review to ensure compliance with Merritt Contracting’s standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Driving & Transportation:
  
  
  
  • Safely operate company vehicles, transporting tools, materials, and equipment to various job sites.
  
  
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring the vehicle is in good operating condition.
  
  
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  
  
  
  


• On-Site Crew Support:
  
  
  
  • Assist with daily tasks, including but not limited to loading/unloading materials, setting up equipment, and site cleanup.
  
  
  • Work closely with the crew to support concrete pouring, excavation, and other general labor tasks as required.
  
  
  • Follow safety protocols and support safe worksite practices.
  
  
  
  


• General Labor:
  
  
  
  • Perform hands-on labor tasks as needed to assist team members in meeting project goals.
  
  
  • Handle tools and materials with care, following training and company guidelines.
  
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Required Experience:
  
  
  
  • Proven experience in a labor-intensive role; experience in construction or concrete work is a plus.
  
  
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (MVR check required).
  
  
  • Ability to operate a vehicle safely and responsibly under various driving conditions.
  
  
  
  


• Skills:
  
  
  
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented attitude.
  
  
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds, stand, walk, bend, and work in varying weather conditions.
  
  
  • Ability to follow directions and complete tasks efficiently and safely.
  
  
  
  

Additional Requirements:

• Offers of employment is contingent upon passing a background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening.


• Ability to work Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends as needed to meet project deadlines.
