Metalcrafters NC is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and motivated Shop Crew Member to join our fabrication team in Goldsboro, NC. If you enjoy working with your hands, building things from the ground up, and taking pride in seeing your work become part of a finished project, this could be the opportunity for you.

As a Shop Crew Member, you'll work alongside an experienced fabrication team to build a wide variety of miscellaneous metal products, from handrails and guardrails to custom stair systems and other specialty fabrications. Our shop team is responsible for turning drawings and raw materials into quality products that are ready to leave our facility and head to the jobsite.

We're looking for someone who is ready to work, willing to learn, and committed to doing the job right. Our projects and production needs change daily, so being adaptable, safety-minded, detail-oriented, and a strong team player is an important part of succeeding in this role.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Fabricate miscellaneous metal products according to approved shop drawings and project requirements
• Assist with the fabrication of stairs, handrails, guardrails, gates, ladders, and other custom metal products
• Complete assigned fabrication tasks accurately and efficiently according to the intended design and drawings
• Read and understand shop drawings and identify the information needed to complete assigned work
• Accurately read and use a tape measure and level
• Safely operate assigned shop tools, machinery, and material-handling equipment
• Measure, fit, assemble, and prepare fabricated components as required
• Work efficiently with other shop team members to keep production moving
• Follow direction from Department Leads and the Shop Manager
• Maintain assigned PPE, tools, and equipment
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
• Keep shop drawings organized and in good condition throughout fabrication
• Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to begin work
• Demonstrate the Metalcrafters Core Values and maintain a positive, can-do attitude each day

What We're Looking For

• Required: At least 1 year of welding and/or metal fabrication experience
• Ability to read and understand shop drawings
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and level
• Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to think quickly and problem-solve when challenges arise
• Positive, can-do attitude
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
• Willingness to learn new fabrication techniques, machinery, and processes
• Ability to perform the physically demanding work required in a metal fabrication environment
• Ability to maintain an efficient work pace while producing accurate, quality work
• Respectful and professional attitude toward coworkers and customers
• Must obtain and maintain required safety and equipment certifications, including First Aid/CPR, forklift, scissor lift, telehandler, and Combi-Lift, as applicable to the position
