Criollo Front Server - AM Fine Dining Experience Required

Essential Functions

To perform the Criollo Front Server position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve 3 – 4 tables to include take and deliver food/beverage order

• Offer suggestions and recommendations on wine and food pairings

• Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant

• Clear and reset tables

• Treat all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction

• Strive to exceed guests’ expectations

• Report to work in a neat and clean uniform; well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential

• Demonstrate complete knowledge of ABC’s of food and beverage preparation

• Cash handling and guest check settlement

• Maintain positive attitude

• Must have the ability to handle stressful situations

• Must have respect for guests and associates

• Must exemplify leadership skills

• Be mindful of time away from station (never more than 2 minutes)

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for an individual to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the Criollo Front Server position: 

Language Ability

• Effectively interact and communicate in English with people from diverse backgrounds

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos

• Write simple correspondence in the English language

• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other associates of the hotel

Math Ability

• Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

• Compute rate, ratio and percent

Reasoning Ability

• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

• Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Computer Skills

• Demonstrate the ability to utilize a computer

• Possess knowledge of Micros

Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

• The position is located in a restaurant setting where the temperature settings are controlled

Physical Demands

• 100% of the time walking around or standing

• 100% of the time reaching, bending, lifting, etc.

• Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. and push around 50 lbs

• Must be able to use a computer to ring orders and accept different types of payment and make change

• Safely navigate multiple flights of stairs

Certification and Licenses

• Must be of legal age according to State regulations to serve alcohol

• Possess a valid Louisiana Responsible Vendor’s Permit, CARE for Servers Card or TIPS Card or

• Ability and willingness to attend a Responsible Vendor’s class and pass the test with a score of 90% or better

Position Status and Availability

• Available to work a part-time, flexible (AM or PM) shift, Monday - Sunday including holidays

Education and Experience

• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• At least two (2) years server experience in an upscale restaurant
