The
Marion
County
Crisis
Center provides 24-hour, 7-day-a-week walk-in mental health services to the greater
Salem area and all of
Marion
County.
The
Crisis
Clinician provides crisis mental health assessments to individuals in need as well as brief case management, resource identification, and referral options.
Crisis mental health treatment may be conducted at our crisis center and occasionally in hospital settings.
Training will be provided on-the-job for those unfamiliar with crisis work.
This individual will be knowledgeable about the community options and services available.
Specifically, this position will offer the opportunity to engage the
Salem community in identifying services and resources that will support and empower clients in the community.
This is a
Monday -
Friday swing shift position with the possibility of 4, 10-hour days.
We offer the following recruitment bonus, prorated based on
F T E: $2,000 bonus for employees new to
Marion
County starting on
January 1, 2024, through
June 30, 2025.
Bonus will be included in employee's first paycheck. For those relocating from outside of
Oregon, we provide the following relocation package: Up to $3,000 reimbursement of moving expenses Relocation bonus in the amount of $3,000 (prorated based on
F T E) as a one-time payment upon proof of

Clinician 2:
$33.44 - $44.80 hr
A wage enhancement of $3.00 will be added to the hourly wage as compensation for hours worked between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Clinician 2: Provide assessments and treatment of individuals and families, including groups; provides crisis assessment and intervention services and related duties as required.
Primary responsibility of this class is to provide assessment and treatment services; crisis intervention, and treatment services, including intensive services, to individuals and their families with complex needs and diagnoses and/or to develop and implement specific services in the community.
Crisis
Clinician 1: Plans and carries out recreational, social and skills training activities; performs case management and counseling functions with
Adults in
Custody ( A I C); facilitates counseling and/or skills training groups; performs related duties as required.
Primary responsibility of this class is case management and counseling, without responsibility for developing and implementing specific programs in the community.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following
Counseling to
Crisis
Clients:
Provide counseling by telephone or in-person to individuals and/or their families or concerned others.
Intervene with both children and adults.
Presenting problems covering the full range of personal needs and include thoughts/plans or violence toward others, and major psychiatric illness.
Because of the wide spectrum of presenting problems, it is necessary to have a comprehensive knowledge of psychopathology and to be able to draw upon a wide range of therapeutic strategies in counseling.
This work is done at two different locations each day (at the
Salem
Hospital
Emergency
Dept. and at
P C C), so driving is required.
Assessment of
Mental
Status:
Perform independent assessment of mental status, diagnosis, level of functioning, dangerousness, and specific needs for service.
Screen individual for psychiatric hospitalization.
Planning
Development:
Develop plan with client/family to address immediate needs and plans to obtain services.
If client is unwilling to seek services, make decisions regarding involuntary commitment based on dangerousness and ability to care for self.
Community
Coordination:
Maintain current knowledge of, and contact with, community agencies in order to make referrals appropriately.
See that clients gain access to the services they need, and do follow-up work as needed, to make certain that client's needs are being met.
Other: Advocacy for
Client's
Rights:
Provide advocacy for client rights, ethical consideration, needs for service and least restrictive care-intervention. Requests for information:
Respond to requests for information regarding clients not currently in the
C S S, requiring a thorough knowledge of laws governing the release of confidential information. Attend monthly
P C C team meeting. Perform other job duties as assigned by your supervisor.
