Job Description - Crisis Services Site Supervisor





Description

Under the supervision of the Crisis Services Director and in close coordination with the Chief Clinical Officer, the Crisis Services Site Supervisor coordinates 24/7 Crisis Services operations (Crisis Center, Peer Respite Center, and/or Mobile Crisis Team). The Crisis Services program consists of a multidisciplinary team that conducts intakes, assessments, crisis stabilization, and referrals for individuals experiencing crises in coordination with New Mexico’s 988 behavioral health hotline dispatchers, local first responders, and the Santa Fe Recovery Center (SFRC) network of services.

REPORTING:

Reports to the Crisis Services Director.

POSITIONS SUPERVISED:

Crisis Support Workers, Crisis Client Engagement Advocates, Crisis EMTs, & dotted line supervision of Crisis Case Managers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works as part of multidisciplinary team serving individuals in acute crisis.
  • Serve individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures experiencing a wide range of clinical presentations and service needs including crisis intervention and de-escalation of mental health and substance use concerns, including suicidal/homicidal ideation or attempts, anxiety, psychosis, mania, grief, intoxication, anger/aggression, and prevention of self-inflicted injuries. 
  • Responsible for overseeing process for staff to assess a client’s needs and mental status, documenting their behavior, and collaborative decision making with the individual in crisis to promote safety and stabilization, carried out by Crisis Services staff.
  • Models the No Wrong Door approach, and person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care practices. 
  • Available for on-call hours including overnight, weekend, or holiday shifts, as assigned/needed. 
  • Community: Serve as a positive and dependable community liaison; attend meetings with community partners and mandatory program or organizational meetings, as offered.
  • Staffing: Coordinate staff scheduling and ongoing training for adequate Crisis Services coverage and staff development; build and maintain a positive and inclusive work environment; participate in interviewing, hiring, ongoing supervision, and corrective action plans for Crisis Services staff.
  • Maintains clear and open communication with Crisis Services Director and other SFRC leaders.
  • Complete programmatic reports, supply orders, and maintenance and IT tickets, as needed.
  • Serves as the Safety Representative for Crisis Services or delegates a staff member accordingly.
  • Other supervisory and direct care duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  1. Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating compassion and patience—awareness of key stakeholders and local partners in the service area. 
  2. Detail-oriented, able to multitask, team player, and has great organizational skills. 
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write comprehensive documentation notes. 
  4. Works well with diverse populations. 
  5. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, Outlook, and online videoconferencing; previous utilization and familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) preferred.

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, or related Human Services field. Master’s degree in social work or counseling programs preferred.
  2. Experience with co-occurring disorders, conducting risk assessments, making rapid differential diagnoses, and providing crisis intervention from a recovery-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered lens. 
  3. At least one year of experience in a supervisory position.
  4. Bi-lingual/bi-cultural (Spanish/Dine/English) preferred.
