Title: CT Technologist - Hosp\n\nUnit: CT Scan\n\nHours: Mon-Thurs 430p-2a\n\nStatus: FT, 72 hours per pay\n\nFacility: MVH\n\nPosition Summary:\n\nIndependently performs computed tomography (CT) procedures utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the CT scanner. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities or at other facilities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities.\n\nEssential Duties \u0026 Functions: \n1\\. Performs CT procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates CT studies for technical image quality.\n\n2\\. Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the CT procedure.\n\n3\\. Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed CT policies / procedures. Performs daily and weekly QC as required.\n\n4\\. Prepares and administers contrast media to the patient according to policy. Practices sterile techniques.\n\n5\\. Assists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.\n\n6\\. Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction\n\n7\\. Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Thoroughly educates patients about exam.\n\n8\\. Ensures that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required, performs clerical duties when necessary, verifies a signed physician order is received and corresponds with the billed procedure.\n\n9\\. Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.\n\n10\\. Follows radiation safety policies and procedures.\n\n \n\nEducation: \nMinimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree \nAdditional requirements:\n\n\u00a7 Type of degree: Allied Health\n\n\u00a7 Area of study or major: Radiologic Technology\n\nLicensure/Certification/Registration: \n\u00a7 CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire\n\n\u00a7 ARRT RT (R) registry required\n\n\u00a7 CT registry preferred\n\n\u00a7 ODH licensure required\n\nExperience: \nMinimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience\n\nPreferred experience: One year experience or additional training in specialized field of CT\n\nKnowledge/Skills:\n\n\u00a7 Cross-sectional anatomy\n\n\u00a7 Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)\n\n\u00a7 Proficient in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Storage\n\n\u00a7 Advanced CT computer applications\n\n\u00a7 Radiation safety\n
