CTM: Plumbing Production Manager

Job Description - CTM: Plumbing Production Manager

About CT Mechanical

CT Mechanical is a commercial mechanical contractor and a division of Comfort Temp Company, one of Florida’s most established mechanical contractors. We build large-scale plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems for commercial and industrial clients across the state.

Our Gainesville office is growing, and we need a Production Manager who leads from the front. You know how plumbing work actually gets done, you hold people accountable, and you keep production moving without someone checking on you.

The Role

This is a field leadership job. You’ll turn project plans into real production on the jobsite: managing manpower, backing up your superintendents and foremen, clearing obstacles, and making sure work gets done safely, on time, and done right.

It’s also a desk job. You’ll track production data, build staffing schedules, document field issues, and keep project managers and senior leadership informed. If you’re only comfortable in the field or only comfortable in the office, this isn’t the role for you. We need someone who’s good at both.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 90 days, you will have:

  • Built relationships with your superintendents and field crews and earned their trust

  • Identified the biggest production obstacles on active Gainesville projects and started removing them

  • Put in place, or improved, manpower tracking and reporting

  • Been a consistent presence on jobsites and in the office

  • Kept senior leadership informed on field performance, staffing gaps, and risks

Long term, success means production is predictable, your team is held accountable with respect, problems get raised early, and work moves the way it should.

Key Responsibilities

Field Leadership

  • Oversee daily production of plumbing field staff in the Gainesville market

  • Support superintendents, foremen, and crews with scheduling, communication, and daily execution

  • Drive productivity, cut downtime, and fix recurring jobsite problems

  • Spot issues early and escalate risks to senior leadership before they get expensive

  • Enforce safety standards every time, no exceptions

Manpower and Scheduling

  • Build and maintain staffing schedules across active projects

  • Adjust manpower to match project demands

  • Review and approve time-off requests for superintendents and field employees

  • Sit in on final interviews for field candidates

Production Tracking and Administration

  • Track manpower, production, schedules, and field documentation in Excel and Microsoft Office

  • Keep accurate records on staffing, employee performance, field concerns, and follow-ups

  • Report production updates to project managers and senior leadership

People Leadership

  • Give direct feedback, coaching, and guidance to field team members

  • Lead annual performance reviews and submit wage recommendations

  • Handle misconduct concerns and work with HR on documentation and follow-up

  • Bring suspension or termination recommendations to HR with proper documentation

  • Set clear expectations and hold people accountable while keeping their trust

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 5+ years of hands-on commercial plumbing construction experience

  • Proven experience leading field crews, foremen, or superintendents in commercial construction

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word. A real share of this job is administrative and tracking work.

  • Clear, direct communication with field employees, project managers, and leadership

  • Safety-first mindset and the backbone to enforce standards consistently

  • Ability to travel throughout the Gainesville market as needed

Preferred

  • Experience managing multiple active projects or jobsites at once

  • Familiarity with commercial plumbing production metrics and manpower reporting

  • Prior experience working with HR on personnel matters

Why CT Mechanical

We’ve been doing this a long time and we do it well. We take pride in the quality of our work and the stability we give our people. We’re also growing, so there’s real opportunity for someone who shows up, performs, and wants to build something over time.

This isn’t a role for someone looking to coast. It’s for someone who wants ownership, accountability, and the satisfaction of watching a team and a market run the right way.

Our Core Values

  • Do what you say

  • Do what it takes

  • Do it with purpose

  • Do the right thing
