Cross-Functional Team Member - School Choice Applications manages, plans, coordinates, and supports the development and implementation of the school choice application to ensure clarity and accuracy in the lottery. The CTM is responsible for all data management associated with the school choice application and lottery.

1. Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of the school choice application, ensuring functionality, clarity, and user-friendliness for families and internal stakeholders.
2. Manage all data associated with the school choice application, platform, and lottery to ensure accuracy, security, and compliance with district and state regulations.
3. Oversee cross-functional project plans, timelines, and deliverables related to the application and lottery cycle, ensuring smooth execution and accountability across teams
4. Serve as the primary point of contact for external platform vendors, manage relationships, contracts, timelines, and troubleshooting in alignment with district goals.
5. Develop and implement testing protocols for the application and lottery system to ensure reliable performance, accuracy, and a seamless user experience.
6. Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Enrollment, IT, Communications) to align efforts, resolve issues, and communicate key updates and milestones across the organization.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree
1 to 3 years

Decisions are made with greater freedom and discretion, including recommendations that are subject to approval on matters that may affect multiple departments across HISD. Job is frequently expected to recommend new solutions to problems, to improve existing methods/procedures/services and generate new ideas. May also review decisions made by other individuals on more routine matters.
Decisions have considerable impact on multiple divisions or the organization causing risks or improvements to relationships, significant efficiencies, or delays in operations, and/or significant financial gains or expenses. Errors are serious and difficult to discover, normally involve decisions not subject to detailed review and will result in excessive costs and/or significant project delays.
Negotiate and influence - interpret department strategies and services, resolve conflicts, influences outcomes on matters of significance for the division, conduct final negotiations and coordinates approvals/decision making below the executive level. Interactions are typically with customers and Top Management.
Regularly assesses and diffuses complex, and escalated customer issues. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for solving systemic customer service problems. Regularly explores alternative and creative solutions to meeting the needs of the customer within HISD's policies and guidelines.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
