Our Culinary Manager cultivates a culture of authentic hospitality, supports business objectives and growth, and oversees the daily administrative and operational tasks of the resort’s culinary program. This individual provides overall culinary planning, direction, evaluation, and control of the food service unit(s), achieving operational and financial goals. Their responsibilities include executing the resort’s strategy for food preparation, safety, and sanitation; food service, quality, and inventory control; financial management; and the culinary team member management, development, and training. This role is instrumental in establishing and maintaining an effective and efficient culinary program at the resort.
This position may require flexible scheduling availability.

Job Requirements:
Demonstrate initiative and good judgment in assisting customers, clients, peers, and direct reports
Interact professionally with a diverse group of associates, peers, managers, suppliers, clients, and customers
Coordinate team member selection and development and ensure team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures
Create a fun, safe, and rewarding work environment for team members including an open line of communication with staff
Supervise, coach, and schedule all Back of House F&B Team Members
Oversee the daily administrative and operational tasks of the resort's culinary program (including cooking alongside the team members, coordinating food orders, ensuring proper plating and
temperature, etc.)
Provide knowledgeable oversight for all food production, including menu planning, purchasing, cost control, and inventory management of the food service unit(s) while achieving operations and
financial goals
Ensure Back of House program(s) across the resort comply with Island's quality and financial standards, as well as government and Health Department standards
Remain well-versed in all aspects of food service management, creating a track record of success
Manage Back of House planning, budget analysis, and reporting
Maintain kitchen and cooking areas ensuring equipment and food storage areas are clean, sanitary, and organized as required by the Health Department Rules and Regulations
Maintain compliance with the preparation and maintenance of required records, reports, and paperwork for the culinary department
Job Qualifications:
Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Demonstrated leadership abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time
Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
Must be able to pass the Safe Food Handler Certificate Program within 60 days from the date of hire
5 years of culinary/restaurant/food service management experience with increasing responsibilities is preferred
6 months experience in P&L management is preferred
6 months of contract-managed service experience is preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or Food Service Management is preferred
