Curriculum Coach-Literacy Girls School -Upper Elementary grades

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Literacy Curriculum Coach to join our team with opportunities to work with Yeleds Professional Development team, offering Literacy Curriculum coaching to Girl's schols in Brooklyn. This is an exciting opportunity to support upper elementary-grade teachers in fostering a love of literacy while enhancing instructional practices in grammar, writing, and literature. The Literacy Curriculum Coach will collaborate closely with teachers and school administrators to refine and implement a high-quality literacy curriculum that supports student achievement and inspires a deep appreciation for language arts.

Position Overview:

As a Literacy Curriculum Coach, you will guide and mentor upper elementary teachers in delivering engaging and effective instruction in grammar, writing, and literature. Your role will involve providing individualized coaching, leading professional development workshops, and assisting in curriculum planning and implementation. This position is ideal for someone with expertise in literacy education and a passion for empowering teachers to create dynamic, student-centered classrooms..

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Design & Implementation:

• Collaborate with teachers to design, refine, and implement a cohesive literacy curriculum focused on grammar, writing, and literature for upper elementary grades.


• Ensure the curriculum aligns with best practices and fosters critical thinking, creativity, and strong communication skills.


• Assist in the selection and integration of instructional resources and materials to enhance literacy instruction.

Collaboration & Communication:

Foster a collaborative learning community by facilitating discussions and the sharing of resources among teachers.

Partner with administrators to ensure alignment of instructional goals with school-wide initiatives.

Communicate effectively with parents about student progress, strategies to support literacy development at home, and the overall importance of literacy in education.

Schedule:

Primarily afternoon hours, with a flexible schedule based on teacher and coach availability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Literacy, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.


• Experience in teaching and/or coaching elementary grades, with a strong emphasis on literacy development.


• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.


• Proven ability to build positive relationships with teachers and support their professional growth.
