Job Summary: 

The Custodial Worker at Vista Care is responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned buildings and apartment locations. Key duties involve sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, waste disposal, and making beds in living quarters, while maintaining a level of attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions and safety protocols. This position reports to the Chief of Staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures all Vista Care corporate offices, apartments, and other assigned locations are cleaned and maintained according to company standards and safety protocols. 
• Complete daily checklists of activities and tasks and provides to supervisor
• Maintains supplies and notifies supervisor when cleaning supplies are low
• Floor care: Sweeping, dry or wet mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors using brooms, mops, and lightweight floor machines. 
• Dusting and polishing: Cleaning furniture, metal fixtures, windows, and glass doors. 
• Waste management: Emptying wastebaskets and collecting soiled linens.
• Restroom cleaning: Ensuring bathrooms are clean, tidy, and well-stocked with supplies. 
• Bed making: In residential apartment settings, making beds and changing linens, as well as completing associated laundry. 
• Other duties as assigned

Program responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Reports to work routinely and timely; if unable to report to work, or if there is a need to come to work late or leave early, follow Vista Care’s approval policy.  

Complete required, on-going training requirements and competency levels within Vista Care and State/County required timeframes.  In addition to other training requirements include, but are not limited to:

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience in custodial and housekeeping responsibilities preferred
  

Scope of Supervision:

• None

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively during work hours
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage and disposal methods
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision
• Ability to lift at least thirty (30) pounds and the ability to bend, twist, lift, reach 
• Variable weekly hours to support operational needs including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays including possible on-call support.
