The National WWII Museum is currently seeking Custodians. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Custodian position performs daily and/or nightly duties as communicated by the on-duty supervisor: Director of Facilities, the Assistant Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Worker, or Lead Custodian.
Requirements
Perform routine custodial tasks according to established maintenance schedules.
Perform special assigned duties for floor care including buffing, sealing and stripping, carpet shampoo and extraction, auto scrubbing operations, and pressure washing of the sidewalks.
Ensure engraved bricks are well maintained and clean.
Provide input to the Director of Facilities on general maintenance that may need to be performed, such as light bulb replacement or exhibit repairs.
Maintain security of the Museum during cleaning while the Museum is closed.
Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Facilities or the Lead Custodian.
Qualifications:
Physical ability to perform manual work.
Minimum of six months experience in custodial, housekeeping, food service, or other related work.
Familiarity with cleaning procedures.
Familiarity with the care and maintenance of custodial equipment.
Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment is helpful.
Regular and reliable attendance
Willingness to work overtime during special events or heavy visitation periods.
